Easel Post-It-Note Holder with Pen

Today I want to share the post-it-note holders I have been working on. These are based on the one I found here So easy to create with one sheet of cardstock and one sheet of designer paper. Wouldn't these make a wonderful gift? It's hard to tell from the picture, but I actually used two different colors of cardstock. One for the base card and one for the frame around the designer paper. A small piece of designer paper was used to wrap around the ink well inside the pen.

Recipe:

Cardstock: SU So Safron, Marigold Morning, Artichoke and Green Galore.

Designer Paper: DCWV

Flowers: Off white burlap flower on Yellow card
               Prima flowers on Green card

Pens: RSVP from Staples

The sentiments were found on Pinterest. The one on the yellow card says "The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts" and the one on the green card says "One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day."

So keep positive thoughts and have a great day.

Babies, Babies and More Babies

It seems like every time I turn around a family member or friend's family just had a baby or found out they are expecting. My friend, Judy and her husband will be first time grandparents between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They already know it's a girl, so I made this card for them.

Recipe:

Cardstock: SU Pink Passion, Close to My Heart Lilac Mist

Designer Paper: Paper Boutique Baby Girl Paper Pack

Ink: SU Pink Passion, Memento Tuxedo Black

Dies: Nestibilities Scalloped Square, SU Itty Bitty Banners framelits

Punches: SU 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" square punches

Stamps: Duck from SU "Something for Baby" stamp set
Congratulations from "Itty Bitty Banners" stamp set

Embellishments: Pink Heart Button tied with Close to My Heart Pink Blush Waxed Thread

I used velcro dots to close the card and I have to add the sentiment inside.

I cased this card from one I found on Pinterest. It is called the Fancy Flap Fold and can be found here.

Tomorrow my husband and I plan to take a day trip. We are hoping to take our younger daughter and granddaugher to the zoo and art museum in Cleveland,Ohio.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Die Cuts/ Punches

Today's challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters is to create a project using dies and/or punches. My middle granddaughter will be 2 on July 29th, so I made her a birthday card using some of her favorite characters from Sesame Street.

Recipe:

Cardstock: Core'dinations Pastels (card base)
Red, green, blue, orange and black

Embellishments: wiggle eyes, orange grosgrain ribbon

Punches: 1 3/4" scalloped circle, 1 3/8" circle, photo corner punch

Die: Memory Box "Happy Birthday"

Such an easy way to create cute cards for kids. I'm sure my granddaughter will love it.

Roaring 20's

As most of you know, I love anything vintage. I found this image on Pinterest awhile back and find myself using it quite often. I didn't add a sentiment yet, because I'm not sure how I am going to use this card. Could be used for "Thinking of You", "Birthday", "Just a Note", etc.

Ivory was used for the base of the card and the frame is from David Tutera's Layers pack. Then I used my oval Spellbinder's die to cut the photo to fit the frame. To add flair to the corners, I used the Poppystamps "Crochet Corner" die and embellished with Petaloo flowers.

I was a little intimidated to use dies, until my friend, Darlene, showed me how easy they were to use and the different ways to use them. Now I am addicted to them. Thanks, Dar.

Now I am off to prepare for an art class that I am teaching on Wednesday evening and Saturday morning for ages 5-13.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting. Until next time.......

Ahoy, Mateys!

I would love to near the water, but for now I will just have to settle for making cards about the beach. Found this beautiful paper pack and stamp set at our local Pat Catan's store on Saturday. Could hardly wait to use them. Here is my creation:

The paper is double sided, so I used the side with the anchors for the bottom and the other side with the map for the top. The red stripe paper is from the same pack and also has the map on the other side. Aren't these papers wonderful?

Now for the recipe:

Designer Paper: Authentique's Anchored Collection 6 x 6

Cardstock: White, Real Red

Ink: Marvy Navy Marker, Momento Black

Stamps: Lighthouse and Sea Gulls - Inkadinkado Coastal Stamp Set
Happy Birthday -Stamping Sensations Perfectly Said Stamp Set

I think I will make more of these cards for my craft show stash. They would be great for a masculine card.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by. As always, I love hearing from you, so if you have a chance please leave a comment.

Cherish Today

It has been awhile since I tried to make any kind of fancy fold card. Today I decided to try an easel card. This card was fairly easy. You start off with a 4" x 12" piece of cardstock (you will get 3 cards from a 12" by 12" sheet of cardstock), then score at 4", 6" and 8". Once folded, you will have a 4" x 4" card.

:

Recipe:

Cardstock: SU Marigold, Black, White

Designer Paper: Bo Bunny "Country Garden Collection"

Dies: Spellbinders Labels Five

Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black

Stamp: Staming Sensations Everyday Horizontal Greetings "Just for You"

Sentiment: Found on Pinterest

Embellishments: K & Company Butterfly and Flower Die Cuts

Ribbon: Green Satin

I am very happy with the finished product. Will definitely be making more for my craft show stash. Now I need to make a matching envelope using my envelope punch board, my new favorite tool.

Thanks for visiting with me today. Happy Crafting!

Almost Done

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been very busy reorganizing my craft room. My friend, Judy, came over Monday and Wednesday to help me go through my stash and get everything put away. The west end of my room is done. Still have some organizing to do on the east end, but that won't take long. Now to get rid of all the empty bins and other items I no longer need. I want to share some pictures of what I have done so far.

Art Work Table

Pazzle Station and Other Material Storage

Big Shot Station and Ribbon Storage

My craft room may not look like "House Beautiful", but it works for me. Now maybe I will feel more creative and actually put things back where they belong when I am finished.

Masculine Birthday

For the Sisterhood challenge this week, we are asking you to make a project for "Birthday". Since my hubby's birthday is coming up soon, I decided to make a masculine birthday card. I have had this car stamp for awhile, but never used it. Then I happened to find the car signs on Pinterest and thought that all the pieces would come together perfectly for a guy card. The cocoa cardstock was embossed with the Darice Tire Track embossing folder and the designer paper is K & Company. I rough cut around the car, then layered it onto cocoa paper and hand tore the frame.

Hope my hubby likes it. He loves vintage cars, especially cars from the early 1900's through the early 1960's. If you have a chance leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Thanks for visiting with me today. Now head over to the Sisterhood for inspiration for today's challenge, put on those thinking caps and get crafting. We would love to see your creations.
